Technical Marketing Engineer

For this contract position with a world renowned company, you will be working with the Technical Marketing team. This team drives customer adoption of Open Source Technologies and operating systems in various market segments including mobile, In-Vehicle Infotainment and Data Centre. You will work on technologies like Tizen, Chrome, Android, Yocto for Core/Atom platforms, as well as open source technologies for Data Centre such as Open Stack and Hadoop. The scope of team activities includes design-win and design-in technical support for customers and partners, technical collateral, field/customer training and product/customer demos.

This is an opportunity to develop and apply technical knowledge along with strong problem solving skills. You will be working with Technical Marketing Engineers to develop demonstrations and collateral to drive the development and delivery of cutting-edge new products and eco system into growth markets.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

- Executing a demo roadmap for various open source technologies and open source operating systems
- Working with other external and internal teams to procure and plan ingredients for demos
- Developing and Integrating demos
- Preparing and troubleshooting demos for events, conferences possibly with customers/partners
- Running tests to provide key information for design-win and design-in technical support to OEMs and Operating System solution vendors
- Researching and documenting information for the development of the technical and demo collateral

QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

- Strong technical background in Linux based Open Source Operating Systems
- Hands-on experience developing, porting and/or debugging on Linux platforms
- Linux System Administration knowledge
- Broad software engineering experience
- Familiarity with Open Source Software version control, configuration management and/or bug tracking tools preferred
- Application development experience with C, C++, HTML5, JavaScript and Java
- Proven communication skills
- Demonstrated technical writing skills
- Experience creating and executing product demonstrations
- Strong problem solving skills and ability to apply critical thinking
- Ability to work independently and proactively, multitask effectively and exhibit strong influencing and leadership
