Technical Lead - Connected Services - Contract

SENIOR TECHNICAL LEAD SOFTWARE ENGINEER/DEVELOPER

CONTRACT

ABOUT:

My client is breaking ground in the performance and functionality of navigation services, digital maps and automotive telematics for major car manufacturers. You will be part of a medium size department (75-100 SW Engineers), reporting to the SW Architect and you will be responsible for defining the technology road-map amongst other responsibilities whilst remaining a hands on member of the team.

WHAT YOU WILL DO AS A TECHNICAL LEAD:

- Define and monitor the technology roadmap for connected services.
- Developing and maintain connected services related tooling.
- Performing peer code reviews.
- Performing developer tests on your own code and creating automated tests (system tests and unit tests)
- Creating and updating SW documentation

QUALITIES THAT MAKE GREAT CANDIDATES:

- Experience in A TECH LEAD/TECHNOLOGY ROADMAP owner
- A proven track record in software development, predominantly focused on MODERN C++(C+, 14, 17)
- Subject matter expert in any of the following: DISTRIBUTED COMPUTING, scalable architecture, Cloud Computing, MICROSERVICES, CI/CD, containers etc.
- Working experience with UML MODELLING.
- Knowledge of object-orientated programming (Knowledge of SCALA would be a huge bonus)
- Experience with additional Scripting languages: PYTHON, PERL, BASH etc.
- Good knowledge on database systems (both relation (eg MYSQL, ORACLE) and NOSQL database systems)
- Experience with JAVASCRIPT/Typescript is a bonus
