Technical Engineering Manager/Consultant Engineer

£300 - £450 day depending on experience, for 3 - 6 months

Technical Engineering Manager/Consultant for interim role of a well funded and well backed start up. The client produces electronic acoustic and sonar instrumentation and already has a healthy order book. Selling across the globe.

The Technical Engineering Manager will be employed on an interim basis to help relieve the existing Director of Technology of some of his heavy work load. Requiring sound engineering knowledge the Consultant must be able to dive in to a small team and help out where necessary (R&D, customer liaison, project work, management of team etc.). This is a passionate and bright engineering group which requires someone who can fit in with their culture.

Essential requirements:

- Minimum 10yrs in an engineering arena (ideally electrical, electronic, electro-mechanical)
- Excellent communication skills (both written and spoken)
- Board level and/or stakeholder experience
- Experience of working with small teams or companies
- Business savvy

Background in to 2 or more of:

- Electrical and electronics
- FPGA, VHDL
- Digital Design
- Embedded C/C++
- Matlab
- Assembler
- Sonar or Acoustic instrumentation

Other desirables:

- Sales and marketing
- P&L and other business accounting knowledge
- Background in infrastructure sector (civil engineering, highways, utilities (water, hydrology), rail networks etc.)
