Technical Engineer/Service Manager - Amazon Cloud WS

Edelway is a Swiss IT services consultancy with 200+ active consultants.
We are actively looking for a Technical Engineer/Service manager for Amazon Cloud WS to join our global pharmaceutical client based in basel.
This role will be long term,
Tasks:
* Defines and maintains knowledge about how systems are related and ensuring that dependencies are understood and managed accordingly.
* Develops operational models that will ensure optimal use of resources and the appropriate level of performance.
* Defines all tasks required to manage the infrastructure and ensuring that these tasks are performed appropriately.
* Plan and design new security technologies and solutions through project work and assisting in the creation or corporate standard procedures
* May lead a group of system/software engineers in a Matrix organization, supporting and coaching associates with their development and operations activities
* Provide recommendations to management team to increase effectiveness of organization and technology solutions
* Proactively improves service availability wherever possible and optimizes the availability of the IT infrastructure to deliver cost-effective improvements that deliver tangible benefits to the business.
* Creates, maintains and regularly reviews an availability management system and a forward-looking availability plan, aimed at improving the overall availability of IT services and infrastructure components; so ensures that existing and future availability requirements can be met.
* Reviews incident data to analyze assigned problems.
* Monitors progress on the resolution of known errors and advising incident management staff on the best available workaround for incidents.
* Assists with the handling of major incidents and identifying their root causes.
* Create project plans, design, and implement solutions.
* Level 3 and Level 4 Support for problems identified with cloud services. Will act as an escalation for Level 2 and Level 3 Managed Services support technicians in new operating model and handle level 2 and 3 in the interim operating model.
* Create, request, and present technical specifications and requirements for purchasing of cloud services via quote procedure.
* Standard system administration duties including server or service install, System/Application install and patch management, Windows and/or Linux problem determination and resolution, log analysis, etc.
* Interface with third party vendors as liaison between client and vendor
* Utilize superior customer service skills
* Stay current with system information, changes, and updates
