Technical Designer - London - Banking, Payments, HLD/LLD

Square One are looking for a Technical designer to come on baord for a contract position taking you up to the end of the Year based in Central London.

Main duties and responsibilities

This position is for an experienced technical designer to define the migration decommissioning approach for a Legacy platform working as part of the broader team to ensure effective implementation.

Input into detailed planning for achieving Programme Technology Design objectives
Responsible for ensuring adherence with corporate guidelines as to Buy, Hold & Sell technologies
Responsible for ensuring alignment to the 9 PCB stacks
Responsible for ensuring the suitability and scalability of E2E technology solutions (High Level Designs)
Input into E2E technical design documentation
Input into the development of migration scripts
Input into interface specification documentation
Input deployment approach documentation
Own end-to-end technical and application design for allocated projects, identifying and engaging all technical component teams that need to contribute. Ensure technical designs are clearly and robustly documented
Technical delivery feasibility and SME inputs to Solutions workstream and Change Control process
Work closely with Solution Architect to ensure solutions are compliant with Functions IT and Bank wide standards.

Skills and knowledge:
A track record of successful Designer, Senior developer roles undertaken on solutions encompassing trade product platforms & payment systems
Experience in a large commercial organization in a subject matter expert, designer/technical architect roles
Understanding of Payments processing and payments operations of large financial institutions - gained from either a Bank, Clearing schemes, or Systems Integration, or liquidity and settlement in a payments
environment
Knowledge/experience of payment applications and utilities like Global PayPlus (GPP), Mass Payments
Excellent communication skills to business and technical stakeholders
Ability to provide clarity to developers
Ability of quick review/turn around of work products
Ability to understand business needs, systems limitations, provide solution to design bottlenecks
Ability on problem solving, especially on system response
Ability to translate business requirements into technical designs and interpret requirements into low level specifications
Proven experience of writing and reviewing technical high level and detailed design specifications

This is an initial 4 month contract role based in Central London paying market rates. With interviews scheduled for this week, the ideal start date is 31st AUgust however they are happy to wait for the right person.
