Technical Designer

We are currently recruiting for a Technical Designer to join our client located in Brussels, Belgium. This is potentially a very long term contract. Our client is in the public sector.

FUNCTION:

This is an exciting opportunity for a Designer who will be responsible for understanding customer integration requirements, analyse and implement Enterprise application and B2B integrations accordingly.

The new Integration Designer will coordinate and work within the Build development team together with QA, RE and operations teams throughout the entire development cycle.

This position will work with a team of 4-5 Designers on Enterprise application integration implementations, responsible for:

- designs adapters services, interfaces, service mappings;
- Creates and maintains technical documentation and drawings, update the service catalogue;
- Supports application designers for integration aspects;
- Maintenance of integration design patterns.

REQUIREMENTS/MUST HAVES:

- Understands the concepts of Application LifeCycle Management (quality assurance, release management);
- Wide experience in system and end-2-end integration tests;
- You have gained experience in integration projects and know which are best practices ("integration design patterns") or potential pitfalls;
- Strong understanding in service based design principles and web services for the SOAP and REST implementation;
- Strong understanding and experience with EDI, XML, XSD and Flat file parsing;
- Knowledge of Java Design Principles and key patterns, such as: mediator, strategy, builder, visitor;
- Experience with communication protocols such as HTTP(S), FTP(S), SFTP and messaging Technologies;
- Experience with Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) and Business to Business (B2B) components;
- Experience with Datamodelling and relational databases (Oracle, MS/SQL), EDI transactions, and object-oriented programming;
- Adequate experience in system analysis and design, development, testing, implementation and support.

DESIRABLE SKILLS/NICE TO HAVES:

- Sufficient knowledge of UNIX/Windows(x) operating systems;
- Experience with PeopleSoft integration;
- Experience in building integration solutions preferably using software AG webMethods 8.2 product suite (Broker, Integration Server, Mediator, Centrasite, Optimize) with extensive knowledge in the architecture, design and development of SOA, ESB, BPM, and CAF platforms.
