TECHNICAL DESIGNER

A fantastic opportunity to work with a major, global financial services provider on a newly launched and exciting major project.

The Technical Designer role works within the Technical Design team within the Wealth Direct programme.  This role requires broad expertise in a wide range of software, data and intergration technologies and infrastructure.

This role requires the right candidate to have significant experience of delivering high quality technical designs and solutions in large organisations, preferably within the financial services or investment management sectors.  You must have strong technical problem solving and analytical skills plus the ability to rapidly build knowledge in new areas, demonstrating a delivery focused approach and being able to quickly apply a combination of systems engineering and commercial thinking.

You must be able to articulate technology architecture from the infrastructure through to all application tiers.  Having technology experience including a substantial number of:

- Technology Infrastructure (hardware platforms; operating systems; data networks)
- Middleware and Integration Technologies
- Application and web Servers
- High availability and business continuity technologies
- Application and infrastructure security
- Database management systems
- Software development tools and methodologies
- Experience of high volume retail websites and design of secure Internet services is highly desirable.
