Technical Data Analyst (C) (61218)

A top investment bank in midtown Manhattan is looking for a Technical Data Analyst to to join their client onboarding team in New York.

This is a contract position for 6months+

Main Duties

The main elements of this role include:

1. Data Analysis - Accurately and efficiently dissect and analyze data from multiple systems for business and technology groups spanning several regions

2. Technical Writing -Assist in the creation of technical specifications and design artifacts that take into consideration business and infrastructure requirements as well as system architecture and capacity

The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:

· ETL development in a SQL Server 2008 R2 DW environment

· Understand business, technical, and infrastructure requirements

· Ability to present findings to key senior business stakeholders

· Assist in the creation of general system design and technical specifications for new/replacement/enhancement systems taking into consideration server capacity, limitations and system availability

· Apply coding and analytical skills in all phases of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

· Develop design artifacts from requirements documents

· Test, debug, support and maintain application programs for customers in a variety of industries, lines of business and environments

Experience Required:

· 5-7 years of experience developing software

Technical Skills Required:

· Experience with building SSIS Packages (ETL) including C# scripts

· Experience with pulling data from multiple data sources (SQL Server, Oracle, MS Access, flat files, excel files)

· Strong T-SQL skills including stored procedures and functions (CLR experience a plus)

· Exceptional communication skills

· Experience with Autosys and the automation of jobs

Other skills (preferable, not mandatory):

· Preference will be given to candidates with additional experiences in Business Objects (Designer, Reporting)

Skills / Aptitude Required:

· Very strong and confident communicator in both verbal & written communications

· Ability to understand the business context of requirements and apply to the task in hand

· Ability to work under pressure to deliver to committed timescales

· Strong technical skills with demonstrated ability to learn further

· Exemplary team player

· A good understanding of the investment banking business will be an advantage
