One of our blue-chip clients is urgently looking for a Business Analyst with a Technical background (Datawarehouse - SQL, Cognos/Informatica)

IT - Business Analyst with technical background

The project is focused around a validated set of BI reports (cognos) built on top of a datawarehouse (Informatica powercenter). Focus for this position will be to investigate all issues on the datawarehouse and reporting layer from a functional perspective to find the root cause and propose a solution. This functional analysis needs to be supported by solid technical skills to ensure technical validity of the solution. There is also a technical team which uses this input to establish technical solutions and provide the implementation of fixes.

Strong communicator: be able to communicate with the business. Communicate with the business about the issue on a non-technical level.

- Fast learner: In a short time the analyst has to learn the environment technically as well as the business rules.
- Good SQL knowledge: Main part of the analysis is verifying the data in the source systems and the DWH. The analyst needs to be able to write (complex) queries

that simulate the loading process and/or the business rules.

- Cognos and/or Informatica Powercenter: The analyst needs to be able to look into Cognos to investigate how a particular report has been built and be able to load into Informatica Powercenter to verify what and how data is loaded and the business rules that have been implemented.
- Having experience with Clinical trials is a big plus.
- Must be able to work on multiple simultaneous tasks with limited supervision
- Able to follow change management procedures and internal guidelines
- Applies procedures and processes effectively in compliance with the customer IT standards.
- Analyzes business processes and helps define and document business requirements.

Methodology/Certification requirements

- Master and/or Bachelor Degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Chemistry or Bioinformatics OR equivalent through experience. Advanced course work in technical systems plus continued education in technical disciplines is preferred
- Additional certification is a plus
