JOB OVERVIEW:

The Technical Business Analyst role is a highly collaborative position with insight into, and cooperation with, all roles within the organization. This position serves as a primary facilitator for cross-team communication and collaboration. The Technical Analyst must familiarize him/herself with scope, objectives and architecture of each project to gain a cohesive, detailed and accurate understanding. Technical Analysts must have focused attention to detail and must work well in teams or on solo tasks.

The Technical Business Analysts primary responsibility is creating detailed functional requirement documents for client approval that clearly denote scope and requirements to aid development teams, Engineering teams and Quality Analysis teams in project development. The Technical Analyst owns/organizes all project-related documentation. After document creation, the technical analyst is responsible for answering scope and functionality related questions and to provide oversight to the successful completion of the project.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- DOCUMENTATION:
- Responsible for owning and updating all front and Back End functional documentation.
- Work closely with the Technical Lead to obtain the technical details for the necessary planning deliverables before the implementation phase.
- Ability to identify "gaps", overlaps, and conflicting information in scope and documentation and work with the team to resolve project issues.
- Ability to outline basic test scenarios, provide implementation recommendations and understand the integration of modules/web parts within content management systems.
- COMMUNICATION/COLLABORATION:
- Facilitating cross-department communication is key to this role.
- The Technical Analyst leads project handoff and retrospective meetings with members of the Engineering, Quality Analysis, Project Management and Information Architecture teams and will be responsible for capturing and following-up on any action/blocking items.
- The Technical Analyst will be the main information resource for project functionality and scope specific questions.
- Must be able to effectively communicate and document complex user interaction scenarios.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor's Degree in computer-related field is preferred.
- Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
- Use case model/specifications creation.
- Business requirements document creation.
- Business process design.
- Work flow and Gap Analysis.

SKILLS:

- Experience to write project proposals, reports, technology assessments, and analyses.
- Skills to absorb complex technical and conceptual information, identify key issues and details, and present understandable alternatives to both technical and non-technical individuals at all organizational levels.
- Experience working effectively with broad-based constituencies and the highest levels of management.
- Skills to present information effectively and tailor presentations to a wide variety of audiences (including management).
- Skills to build consensus and manage competing stakeholder's expectations.
