Technical Business Analysis - GIS Project (Q2)

PROVIDE TECHNICAL BUSINESS ANALYSIS SERVICES TO THE GIS PROJECT

- Elicit, identify and document stakeholders needs and translate them into technical requirements (eg Functional, or Data requirements);
- Elaborate requirements (typically Business Requirements) to a technical level of detail that accurately communicates the business need;
- Provide support to allow developers to create technical specifications and testers to produce testing scripts;
- Assess the proposed solution to ensure that it meets the business needs from a technical perspective (eg assess and validate functional or data requirements (or similar) are met by the technical development);
- Produce the necessary documentation as per the required Project artefacts
- Work collaboratively with the Lead Business Analyst (and Project) to support end-user representatives over the project life cycle;

- Strong customer and service focus, and ability to rapidly understand and champion client needs;
- The ability to work collaboratively with people at all levels, as well as understand and assimilate to adopted Project Methodologies, processes, procedures and systems;
- Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills, in particular:
- Excellent facilitation skills (both individual and group facilitation) across varying business units;
- Understand and articulate relevant project risks

Ability to present and articulate using a variety of verbal, written and visual methods - where appropriate to a diverse range of audiences;
- Strong technical analytical abilities, and a creative thinker in developing solution approaches;
- Ability to meet goals

TECHNICAL SKILLS

- Exposure to GIS and Asset Management Systems - [Desirable, not Essential];
- Exposure to Enterprise Service Bus tools, conceptually or directly (eg Webmethods, BizTalk) - [Desirable, not Essential];
- Strong documentation skills using Microsoft products (eg Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint);
- Solid understanding of full SDLC ie requirements through to implementation;
- Solid understanding of the Business Analysis, methodologies, processes, tools and deliverables (eg Use Case modelling, User Story modelling);
- Strong knowledge of Data Mapping, Flow Charting, and other structured analysis

HIGHLY DESIRABLE

- Formal tertiary qualification in Business, Information Technology or related discipline, eg Business Analysis or Project Management is highly desirable
