Technical Author

TECHNICAL AUTHOR

This internationally renowned organisation is looking for a an experienced technical author to produce and edit a wide range of internal and external documentation. This will include technical reports, user guides, software installation guides, service specifications, instruction manuals, Internet/Intranet/wiki pages, white papers, presentations and training materials. This is an initial six month contract, extensions are very likely.

As the successful candidate, you will have:

- Solid technical writing experience from a technical and/or engineering background, OR from a language/PR/academic/marketing/consultancy/editing background with demonstrable experience with technology.
- Knowledge of and/or experience with networks (eg backbone and multi-domain networks), telecommunications, Internet technology, and/or software development.
- Experience of writing for both technical and non technical audiences.
- Excellent attention to detail and good proofreading skills.
- Advanced MS Word skills, and good general knowledge of MS Office applications.
- The ability to work well under pressure.
- The ability to liaise successfully with teams in other European countries.

The following are desirable, but not essential:

- An academic/research background.
- Experience in a non-profit/government or academic organisation.
- SharePoint.
- Additional European languages.
