Technical Author

We are currently recruiting for a 6 month contract role for our client based in Frimley, Surrey

Basic Job Description:
Restructuring existing Technical Documentation, eg SSDD, in to new template as mandated by Whole Boat/customer
Production and update of the Successor System Design Description Documents (SSDD) for submarine combat system equipment
Production and update of Interface Documentation
Review and authoring of Technical and Design product definition documentation
Production and review of document template
Transfer of technical data from existing documents into revised template

Person qualifications:
Desirable - Degree, HNC or equivalent qualification in Engineering or an appropriate related discipline. (relevant experience of working in a broad spectrum of Engineering disciplines will be accepted in lieu)
Essential - Qualification in the use of Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel (proof of extensive experience of Technical Authoring utilising these tools will be accepted in lieu)
Desirable - Clear and concise writing experience
Desirable - A flair for turning technical subjects and jargon into easily understood text
Desirable - Ability absorb information quickly
Desirable - A curiosity about how things work
Desirable - An analytical mind and inquisitive nature

Experience
Essential - Significant experience of working within an Engineering environment.
