Technical Author

This well-established, innovative company with a very interesting range of products is looking for an excellent technical author to work within their Technical Communications team. You will be producing a range of documentation including user and reference guides, online help, training guides, and interactive tutorials for their software and data products.

You will work closely with Agile project teams and technical experts to develop an in-depth understanding of the company's software and data products, and to ensure that the documentation meets users' needs. You will also help to evaluate UI designs and advise on text in the user interface.

You will have:

- Experience as a technical author in the software industry - planning, estimating, writing, and delivering software documentation that helps users achieve their goals.
- An excellent command of English.
- The ability to write clearly, concisely and accurately, and structure information effectively.
- The ability to understand complex technical information and explain it effectively to users.
- Attention to detail.
- Knowledge of Adobe Technical Communications products (FrameMaker, RoboHelp, and ideally also Captivate).

You may also have:

- Experience of working in an Agile software development environment, or some knowledge of Agile processes and their application to technical communications.
- Skill s in using graphics and multimedia to communicate tasks and concepts.
- Some background in science or engineering - this would be useful, but is definitely not essential.

Salary is up to £32,000 p.a. and a good benefits package is on offer including a generous non-contrib. pension, health and insurance benefits, share option scheme, life assurance, health/gym.
