Technical Author

Contract Role- Technical Author- Aberdeen Based- Oil & Gas Industry

My client are currently in the market for a contract Technical Author to begin as soon as possible. They are seeking someone with either wells engineer experience or, an experienced technical author, someone who can write standards and practices with oil and gas experience.

The role is to ensure that appropriate technical standards are available so that wellstock is safe and compliant throughout its lifecycle.

Responsibilities include:

Take the lead in the roll out of new standards, practices, and legislation including providing training, developing assurance system that wells people understand the new documents and providing support as required

Document relevant technical standards and legislation, provide advice on same and review new documents to identify gaps, recommend actions and implement as necessary

Focal point for online systems

Participate in networks and communities of practice

Provide input to contractors interface documents on standards, practices and procedures

Must have:

Good document management skills

Great interpersonal skills as will need to get people to provide information for them

Experience of major hazards

Excellent writing skills

Experienced with standard software packages/ particularly using the revised feature in word.
