Technical Assistant

To ensure the effective coordination and management of all activities on the highway, in accordance with; The New Roads & Street Works Act 1991, The Highways Act, and The Traffic Management Act 2004. To support the implementation and ongoing delivery of the Southampton Permit Scheme. To ensure all requests for occupation of the highway are coordinated effectively.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

- To have an understanding and ensure compliance with the New Roads & Street Works Act and Traffic Management Act
- To have an understanding of management of road & street works.
- To establish and build positive customer relationships, internally and externally, to the benefit of the contract.
- To ensure that all business documentation is completed fully and filed accordingly, and that reporting deadlines are adhered to.
- To be able to demonstrate proficiency in Word, Excel and other MS Applications. To have an understanding and ideally a good working knowledge of works management systems.
- To ensure by monitoring and prioritising workload that specific contractual targets are met.
- To be able to communicate with a range of different stakeholders. To represent the company at regional and national events.
- To have knowledge of the relevant Health & Safety requirements
- Undertake personal training and development as required in order to build own skill, knowledge and competence
