Technical Architects - 12 Month Contract - Government Department

A high profile Government Department is looking for a Technical Architecture to provide technical assurance and architecture services to the Commonwealth regarding the implementation of Services Oriented Architecture (SOA) across the Department.

DUTIES

- Supporting the achievement of large scale ICT Reform through the implementation of SOA;
- Providing architecture and technical assurance expertise on the strategic direction, assurance, governance, and risk mitigation options; for AMSPA and other SOA service providers;
- Providing architecture guidance and assurance for the SOA Integration Factory (SOAIF) including release, test, development, engagement and delivery;
- Ensuring the definitions, solution architecture reviews and reporting in AMSPA Tasking Statements and Outcomes are appropriate;
- Identifying and mitigating any risks evident in proposed architecture solutions and approaches

EXPERIENCE

- Proven experience as an Enterprise Architect or a Solution Architect in a large-scale reform programme;
- Proven experience of delivering end-to-end integration solutions;
- Broad knowledge of technical and integration issues;
- Experience in the design and development of both logical and physical architectures;
- Understanding of SOA principles;
- Significant experience in architecting large integration programs using a SOA approach;
- Expertise in leadership, execution, stakeholder management and negotiation;
- Ability to excel in dynamic, high stress, high stakes customer-facing environments;
- Ability to work collaboratively with peers, project managers, executives and clients at multiple levels within the Department; and
- Tertiary qualifications in the field of IT or related discipline;
- Understanding and experience of implementing SOA based projects;
- Understanding and experience of IBM integration technologies, and
- Must be willing to obtain a clearance at the SECRET level.
