Technical Architect/Senior Developer Java

For our banking client we are currently looking for a

Technical Architect/Senior Developer

Start date: ASAP
Duration: 6 months
Location: Zurich

Main tasks:

- Influence the technical choices and solutions of a business critical system
- Leverage new technologies to improve quality and reduce risk - Scala, Git, Vaadin/Angular JS
- Work within a technically skilled and driven team including a large OFFSHORE presence
- Regular business contact - direct communication with the business to help solve real problems
- Opportunities to shape improvements to bank's production quality and deployment story
- Wide ranging technical challenges on strategic projects - both directing development and deep-dive coding as needed

The ideal candidate shall bring:

- JAVA AT LEAST 10 YEARS, expert knowledge
- Several years HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE in SCALA, ANGULAR JS AND ORACLE ARE A MUST
- Wide ranging experience in varied ARCHITECTURES, environments and integration
- Deep full-life cycle experience of project/product life cycle with experience on technical and infrastructure requirements gathering
- Development management and control experience:
- Application/Library ownership
- SCM tools - Git
- Tracking tools - JIRA
- Quality tools - coverage
- In-depth experience of development with:
- Oracle or similar enterprise DB
- Java - J2SE, JEE
- Build systems - Maven
- Middleware technologies - MQ/TIBCO
- Scripting languages/UNIX architectures
- Solution space experience:
- Multi-threading/Solutions at scale
- Web/Gui technologies - eg Vaadin/Angular JS/JSF/Play
- ORMs/JDBC
- Integration tools/Libraries

Other important skills:

- Team Leadership (technical or nontechnical)
- COMMUNICATION with stakeholders and/or clients
- Understanding of project, risk management techniques and processes (experience of working in Scrum a plus)
- ABILITY TO EXPLAIN DEEPLY TECHNICAL CONCEPTS IN A SIMPLE FASHION (ABLE TO EXPLAIN IT TOPICS TO BUSINESS)
- FX KNOWLEDGE AND REGULATORY EXPERIENCE (MIFID, EMIR) is nice to have
- A focus on quality with a clear understanding of pragmatic delivery (including realistic deliverables)
- FLUENT ENGLISH
