Technical Architect - Linux (Centos) / BIG Data

I am urgently seeking a senior DevOps Engineer or hands-on technical architect (Linux) for a role based in York. Linux, Automation, Tool Building - BigData Modeling and Analysis Startup My Client is a SaaS start up with a new platform enabling its users to create and share important business data. Their core technology is Java on Linux using open source technology throughout the stack. If you're looking to join a fast-growing startup, work with friendly people, build tools to manage data centers around the world, and work with some cool technologies (including techs surrounding BIG DATA), then look no further. In order to be considered for this role, you will have solid experience within the following technologies: Linux administration (the ops side of devops) - dns, nfs, rpm, apache, raid, etc. Automation - Puppet and Cobbler to manage systems Data center management, replication, scaling Metrics and monitoring - writing custom tools and familiar with open source options Programming in any of Ruby, Python, Perl, etc. You would be an extremely strong candidate if you con show experience in any of the following desirable skills: Multi-data center management, replication, scaling Mysql - replication, backups, some light querying Networking - Switches, routers, firewalls, vpn, etc Managing Java applications - but not necessary to know how to write in Java Amazon EC2 If you are very technical, and would like an extremely hands-on role, then please apply now and call Tom Smith on 0161 817 7888.
