TECHNICAL ARCHITECT - LAMP ARCHITECTURE, MONGO DB, MYSQL

Technical Architect required to join Salmon.This is a lead role working for an eCommerce digital agency responsible for the delivery and support of large number high profile eCommerce applications. The successful candidate will be required to assist in the design, implementation and delivery of software application to a wide range of clients. The primary role will be taking the lead in projects, seeing them from conception to completion and maintaining best practice within the development discipline. This is a practical role requiring someone of excellent technical ability looking to make their mark in a diverse and expanding team.

The successful candidate:

- Should have full project life cycle experience in delivering complex, high volume applications onto the Internet.
- Must be driven, pragmatic and focused on project delivery.
- Must be used to working in a team and may be required to lead and mentor small numbers of developers to deliver more complex areas of functionality.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Project planning & estimation, work allocation and decision making (technical, design & team based)
- System and technical design for new and existing J2EE software applications.
- Document and communicate the technical design.
- Be seen as the technical owner and guru of the architecture.
- Design integration strategies into Back End (Legacy) systems.
- Mentor and advice members of the development team on implementation details.
- Take accountability and responsibility for the design, development and delivery for the whole solution.
- Ensure that deliverables meet capacity and performance targets.
- Develop complex software components and framework code
- Manage a team of Developers when required
- Design system architecture and integration with 3rd party software systems
- Liaise with customers face to face and deliver Client Presentations
- Define and enforce coding standards and best practices
- Keep abreast of new technologies/versions of software for recommendation into new projects and existing clients.
- Ensure on-time and high quality software delivery (Core product & MIS systems)
- Ensuring availability of build environments to allow Testing & Development teams to function effectively coordination & planning
- Able to present design decisions and justification back to team members and customers alike.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

- At least five years development experience in LAMP architecture

Experience of using the following technologies would be advantageous:

- PHP, SYMFONY, DRUPAL, MYSQL, MONGODB, CODECEPTION, UML, ATLASSIAN PRODUCT SET
- Knowledge of Change Management process
- You will be able to demonstrate knowledge of software development methodology using a full project life cycle and a structured approaches to development
- Have a thorough understanding of applications running on the Internet. Ideally have delivered a number of web applications, preferably E-commerce.
- Proven experience of design, implementation and delivery of software systems into production.
- Thorough understanding of capacity and performance issues.
- Experience of formal stress testing exercises.
- Team leader experience
- Excellent written, oral communication and interpersonal skills.
