Technical Architect Job

TECHNICAL ARCHITECT, JAVA/BIG DATA needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's Client located in St Louis, Missouri.

THE BIG PICTURE - TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

- Leading innovation by exploring, investigating, recommending, benchmarking and implementing Big Data centric technologies for the platform
- Strong experience with Java Development in an Agile environment
- Technical architect and hands-on developer to support data platforms
- Provide creative approaches to educate others on various Data Technologies and a how they can best be leveraged
- Problem solving

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Provide creative approaches to educate others on various Data Technologies and a how they can best be leveraged.
- Problem solving

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- At least six to eight (6-8) years of overall IT experience
- Experience implementing such No SQL platforms such as Hadoop, Cassandra, MarkLogic etc
- Five (5+) years hands-on experience with open source software platforms and languages (eg Java, Linux, Apache, Perl/Python/PHP) as an application developer
- Good client facing skills, good communication & presentation skills

BONUS POINTS!

- Knowledge of cloud computing infrastructure (eg Amazon Web Services EC2, Elastic MapReduce) and considerations for scalable, distributed systems a plus
- Have made active contributions to open source projects like Apache Hadoop or Cassandra
- Previous experience with high-scale or distributed RDBMS (Teradata, Oracle, etc)
- Extensive experience with data implementations, data storage and distribution
- Excellent understanding of Big Data Analytics platforms and ETL in the context of Big Data

experienced on working with large volume data set
- Experience with VPC adoption
- Have a solid track record of building large scale systems utilizing Big Data Technologies
