Technical Architect - Java, Nosql, Devops - London - Contract

TECHNICAL ARCHITECT - JAVA, NOSQL, DEVOPS - LONDON - CONTRACT

We're looking for an experienced Architect to join this large greenfield project within a hugely successful E-commerce business, leading the build of a brand new product and its integration with other services. The Technical Architect will provide technical leadership as well as management and refinement of Agile processes.

The ideal Technical Architect will come from an Agile Java Development background but have a wider technology agnostic experience and at least 2 years of Architecture experience (SOA, SOAP, REST), TOGAF certified ideally. Experience with other modern programming languages would be a bonus (such as Ruby, Python, Scala, Clojure, Haskell, Groovy). Strong experience working across multiple projects from both a technical and business point of view would be ideal, web/E-commerce projects would be favourable.

Must have a solid understanding and appreciate of the DevOps culture, continuous deployment etc and the associated configuration management tools such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible etc.

The successful Technical Architect will have significant experience working in, leading, and setting up strong Agile environments. You will have an understanding of multiple methodologies under the Agile' umbrella and know where, how and why each works best (TDD, BDD, Scrum, XP, Pair Programming, KanBan, Lean, DSDM) and how they contrast with more traditional Waterfall/SSADM methods.

- Experience with online checkouts would be a bonus
