Technical Architect - Java - Contract

As the Technical Architect you will be responsible for designing and delivering quality technical solutions which are fit for purpose across a variety of projects. As the Technical Architect you will take ownership of technical delivery while providing strong technical leadership within project and pre sales environments. 

Main Responsibilities

- Responsible for successful delivery of the technical content of solutions that are overall fit for purpose. Delivery incorporates requirements capture, design, construction, testing, implementation and ongoing operation.
- Operating within Agile environments
- Liaises with clients as required, presenting a professional image of Kainos.
- Works with Solution Architects to define overall solution concepts and architectures.
- Responsible for detailed design of solutions that are scaleable, resilient, open, efficient, secure, and cost-effective.
- Ensures that all implementation decisions are both technically and commercially viable.
- Produces commercially viable estimates for technical work.
- Leads technical review activities within project.
- Identifies and resolves potential problems as early as possible.
- Maintains a current knowledge of relevant technology developments and standards. Proactively shares knowledge.
- Delivers valuable advice, guidance and thought leadership to clients on use of technology.
- Identifies ways to improve Kainos effectiveness in solution design and implementation. 

The Ideal Candidate

- Demonstrable experience of providing Technical Architecture in large web projects using Java or related technologies.
- Understanding of Agile methodology and demonstrable experience of delivering projects within an Agile environment
- Experience of complete project life cycle, with specific emphasis on design, construction, testing and tools and methods.
- Sound understanding of tools, design methodologies and best practice.
- Competence in three or more architectures and/or technologies having successfully applied them in a commercial environment.
- Good understanding and application of quality practices as applied to Kainos solutions.
- Sound understanding of solutions deployment and operation as well as functionality.
- Sound understanding of security, performance tuning, capacity planning, resilience, and availability across heterogeneous architectures
