Technical Architect - Java

We're looking for a TECHNICAL ARCHITECT WITH JAVA BACKGROUND for a leading digital agency based in East London. Please note this is a contract role for 6 months starting in March and candidates must be able to work onsite in London. We would prefer to have candidates who have worked for a digital agency before and also those who have excellent communication skills.

You will have experience of Front End technologies and understand how rich online applications are architected as well as experience of mobile solutions and the implications of mobile on web technical architectures.

You will have worked as the lead technologist on the sale of development projects, developing accurate and detailed project plans and managing successful technical projects to plan; designing and developing solutions involving a high degree of technical complexity.

Candidates will have the following responsibilities:

STRATEGY

- Strong business consulting and strategic abilities
- Ability to guide and define what and how we represent technology to clients
- Responsible for ensure the technical solution is of the highest quality
- Present appropriate technology solutions in front on clients and defines the technology strategy and roadmap to clients.
- Take ownership of the technical sections of sales proposals, creates  innovative solutions within budgetary constraints and works  with client  partners and client directors to sell technical vision
- Recommends solutions that reuse architectural blueprints

CONSULTANCY

- Have current knowledge of web technologies and wider concerns
- Show passion for the tools and processes used to deliver quality and evangelizes their use
- Lead the definition phase of a technical project, managing multiple workstreams and levels of colleagues
- Demonstrate leadership skills in addressing delivery and performance issues and undertakes tasks to build team morale
- Highlight technical issues and risks and builds project plans to mitigate those risks
- Present the business benefits of technical solutions and participates actively in brainstorming sessions
- Coach and mentors other team members

DELIVERY

- Understand the detail and challenges associated with the technical deliverable
- Be able to work through complicated challenges with development teams and help find a solution to the problem
- Develop  achievable technical project plans, working with  appropriate members of  the development and testing functions, presents  plans to clients  effectively and protects estimates
- Complete accurate and  thorough high-level technical designs and  facilitates effective handover  to the development team prior to the  implementation phase of a project
- Demonstrate  strong presentation skills and written communication  skills, with  ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical  colleagues  and client.

QUALIFICATIONS:

You should have experience of integration projects working across many of the following technologies:

Web CMS solutions, specifically Adobe AEM (CQ5)

SOA implementations

Sign-on solutions (Siteminder, Open SSO, PKI)

Portals and search technologies (BEA  Portal, ATG Portal, Sharepoint, Endeca, Lucene, Solr)

ETL technologies

SOAP and RESTful webservices (Apigee)

ESBs (Mule ESB)

E-commerce solutions and quote engines

CRM integration

NoSQL implementations (MongoDB)
