DAILY RATE CONTRACT
START DATE: as soon as possible
JOB DESCRIPTION:
My client a very successful utilities company is migrating SAP from AIX to Linux and is looking for the right candidate to start as soon as possible.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build an Enterprise Linux Capability to cover DR, System refreshes, backups and restores
- Build Migration Process from AIX to Linux with OSG team
- Skills/Knowledge Transfer
- Document Best practices for RHel operational tasks
- Preventative maintenance tasks to ensure IT systems are operational and secure and to prevent future incidents
- Incident and problem resolution, maintaining the highest levels of customer satisfaction possible
- Batch monitoring and recovery of failures with a view to improving the system/batch performance
- Change request (CR) impact and prioritisation through to implementation
- Delivery of ad hoc unplanned changes
- Customer communications
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Nominated resources would need to have the following experience:
- Relevant degree with 5 years' experience
- Relevant AIX to RHeL Migration experience
- Certified RHel System Administrator with relevant hands-on admin experience
- Excellent process methodology
- Ability to problem solve and be proactive when faced with a challenge
- Thorough understanding of VMware environment
- Relevant experience in implementing backups/restores of Rhel systems using Veritas Netbackup
- Relevant experience in building DR solutions on a VMware/RheL/XIV environment
- Bash Shell Scripting experience
- Korn Shell Scripting knowledge advantageous
- UC4 familiarity advantageous
GENERAL COMPETENCIES:
Nominated resources would need to have the following competencies:
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills
- Strong troubleshooting, problem solving and work planning abilities
- Strong process orientated approach to problem solving and working
- Demonstrated flexibility and motivational skills
- Customer Service delivery and improvements
- IT Change, Incident, Problem Management Processes (Service Management)
