Technical Architect

This position will have responsibilities in the enterprise and application level design of a web portal as well as development and sustainment of the portal.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Application and enterprise architecture for the existing web portal as well as integration of that portal into internal and external systems.
- Create architectural diagrams and communicate designs to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Develop code using Java/JSP, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Application design, support and sustainment, including production support
- Develop unit test framework and execute unit tests on delivered code
- Contribute to requirements, architecture and technical design deliverables
- Develop accurate coding level of effort estimates and manage task schedules
- Design and development of interfaces with various third party and internal sources.
- Understand consumer customer requirements and translate them into technical solutions, and suggest innovative solutions to business problems

SKILLS:

- Expert J2EE (6) required
- Expert Application Architecture is required
- Intermediate experience with Agile Development, Cloud Computing, Continuous Integration, Automated Testing practices, and Relational/NoSQL databases is required
- Expert Design Patterns experience is required.
- Intermediate experience with Enterprise Architecture is desired
- Demonstrated ability to create technical documentation which supports environment, architecture and development activities
- Knowledge and experience in the use of Ruby and Ruby on Rails is desired
- Good communication skills and ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to business teams
- Must have the ability to work in a very fast paced and often ambiguous environment with a group of developers, architects and testers with a similar focus. Must be team-oriented and work well with others
- Ability to react to changes in schedule, scope and urgent requests is a must.
- Ideal candidate will possess experience working in an iterative development environment and will be very familiar with the entire SDLC process.
