Technical Application Support

TECHNICAL APPLICATION SUPPORT SPECIALIST

We are currently looking for an experienced Technical Application Support Specialist to join an exciting market leading payments organisation. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward thinking, international and dynamic company.

The successful Technical Application Support Specialist must have experience with most of the following:

- Apache Tomcat, Jboss and Apache HTTP
- Weblogic and troubleshooting applications deployed on WebLogic clusters.
- Good understanding of Linux installations and Shell & bash Scripting
- knowledge of relational databases (preferably Oracle)
- Good understanding Oracle SQL.
- Experience on Java based applications
- Comfortable with source control: svn or git
- Working knowledge of ITIL

Some of your responsibilities will be: - - Working with customers/businesses to understand their requirements
- 2nd level support in incident & Problem resolution of all applications/systems
- Provide system and environment level support to guarantee continuous operation and quality management for all environments in support the business.
- Liaison with developers, engineers and the business in order to resolve operational issues.
- Apply releases, changes and updates in close cooperation with other technical or business departments.
- Keep track of changes within the application, arrange the required changes to the operating system of the webservers and applications Servers
- Bring forward ideas for improvement in areas of stability and performance
- Participate in projects for changing existing or implementing new functionality or application.
- Train and instruct the Operations Centre and Junior Application Managers on Technical Application troubleshooting.
