Technical Analyst (Infrastructure)

ROLE DESCRIPTION
As Infrastructure Technical Analyst you will work as part of a team to maintain business system infrastructure, improve system and backup performance. Develop new enhancements and services for the infrastructure. Monitor and maintain infrastructure including Servers, tape libraries, and disk arrays. Coordinate with vendors on issues with software, hardware, or the interaction between the two. Conduct capacity planning and performance analysis of infrastructure. Develop projects to upgrade existing infrastructure or deploy new systems to increase performance or capacity. Respond to and resolve escalated issues. Provide technical advice and direction to engineer and administrators.

- Analyze business requirements and recommend appropriate applications and technology
- Provide effective solutions to issues.
- Administer IT systems and recommend efficient modifications to systems to improve efficiency
- Determine appropriate procedures for IT technologies and assist in equipment configurations
- Provide expert knowledge to resolve IT issues
- Design an effective technical architecture
- Assist to incorporate all new technologies into IT systems
- Monitor production environments
- Evaluate IT architecture and develop required presentations and white papers for all technical processes
- Provide required feedback of all processes.
- Coordinate with software vendors to perform investigations on application issues and provide effective resolutions
- Assist team members to evaluate technical processes
- Coordinate, collaborate with development teams
ESSENTIAL QUALITIES
- 2-5 years' experience in Information Technology in distributed data center environment
- Linux system administration experience
- Extensive backup troubleshooting experience
- Ability to write scripts in Perl, Bourne Shell, or Korn Shell
- Performance monitoring and system tuning experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
DESIRABLE QUALITIES
- VMware, working with vCenter platform
- Nagios monitoring
- Java/Groovy development
- Degree level or equivalent
- Oracle administration concepts
