Technical Accountant

DESCRIPTION:
1) Capital tracking and reporting; transfers of capital among and between business units, application of capital criteria to all transactions; accounting review of transactions for compliance with corporate accounting and capital policies; reconciliation of capital reporting (budget, actuals, forecast, SOX) and underlying records.
2) Investigation of sales and use tax issues; investigation of journalization issues both within the business unit and between business units.
3) Investigation of asset recording errors and reconciliation of corporate and business unit asset records; maintaining fixed asset data.
4) Understanding and applying asset depreciation policies.
5) Knowledgeable in defining and/or applying sound financial and management internal controls.
6) Additionally responsible for Property Tax Compliance including Return Preparation, Assessment Notice Review and Tax Bill Validation, Entry and Bill Payment as well as Fixed Asset Reconciliation to Tax Returns.

SKILLS:
Knowledge of Pivot Tables and VLookups in Excel is mandatory.
