Tech Lead Networking/ Linux - Finance - Chicago

For a highly promising start-up company in the Chicago area, I am looking for a Tech Lead Networking/ Linux that will be managing a small team of infrastructure engineers and will make sure the infrastructure space can keep up with the development team. Although you will be guiding the other engineers, 80-90% of this role will be hands-on technical engineering.

Your main job responsibilities will consist of:
- Tuning network liability;
- Automating the infrastructure performance/ automating configuration of the networks;
- Building network laboratories;
- Managing a small team of engineers that will be responsible for several technical projects within the networking/Linux realm

Do you have what it takes?
- A University degree
- A minimum of 5 years technical working experience in networking and/ or Linux engineering
- Excellent technical knowledge of backbone as well as high performance networks; routing, switching, mail servers, Linux distributions, and strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, Perl)
- Track record building performance automation tools
- Track record of effective leadership in previous roles
- Working experience in HFT/ Prop trading - Ultra low latency environments is a MUST.
