TECH Lead - Front End WEB Development - Financial Services - SYD

Our client is a leading Wealth Management Organisation with a strong presence in the Australian Market. Known within the Financial Services arena for their investment and belief in Technology and awareness of their customers desire to play more of an active role in managing their finances, the firm has recently embarked on a large scale project to completely overhaul their online channels in a bid to significantly improve customer experience.

You will take the reins of a pre-existing team and due to the enormity of the project ahead, be expected to play an integral role in its growth. As well as the team members, your key relationships will be with the Information Architect and Visual Designer as you will liaise with them extensively in order to actualize their vision for the systems.

This is a hands-on technical role where, above all else, you will exercise your excellent Front End Web development skills. You will be responsible for the quality and consistency of code and have experience doing so across large-scale websites, mobile/tablet devices & touch interfaces. You will mentor the more junior members of the team, set technical direction and delegate duties. You will perform code reviews, ensure the code is clean (and optimized where possible) to guarantee coding standards are met and exceeded.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROLE:

* HTML5 (inc old-browser compatibility), XHTML, XML, CSS3

* Jquery (and other js libraries eg backbone, modernzr, bootstrap), AJAX

* JSP and Java technologies - and knowledge of Less and SASS

* Agile software development techniques

* Source code management tools such as GIT

* JavaScript testing frameworks (such as QUnit or Jasmine), Design Patterns (such as MV*, Promise Pattern), Module Patterns & Performance Tuning and Debugging

* Key technologies such as REST and JSON

* Experience working with large enterprise wide websites, CMS, Portal technologies, and/or Back End frameworks (Java, Spring MVC)

* integration with services and Back End systems - works with the Java/Spring developers & their frameworks

* Responsive design/coding methods, scalable designs and UI frameworks.

. Knowledge of testing systems such as Selenium

* Cookies and browser sniffing, security and penetration testing
