Team Manager - Chester - fixed-term contract until end June 2014

Capita Remediation Services are a leading player within the remediation market, having worked on every major regulatory review since 1998 helping our clients within the specialist financial services, utilities and telecommunications sectors face the remediation challenges. We provide both in-sourced and outsourced managed service solutions that are tailored to suit your specific requirements.

We are looking for two experienced team managers to head up teams of Case Handlers based onsite with one of our key Financial Services clients. This role is on a shift pattern and will either require you to work from 07:00-15:00 or 15:00-23:00.

Our Team Managers are responsible for the direct line management of 6-12 case handlers. They will be required to:

* Ensure that all work required is effectively planned and fairly allocated to individuals, monitoring the progress and quality of the work to ensure that the required standard of performance are met
* Provide direction to team members; motivating, coaching, supporting and developing them to achieve team and individual objectives and to play an active role in the appraisal process
* Provide learning opportunities for the team by identifying their learning needs
* Support all team members through monitoring and feedback of team members work in order to maximise quality of work and development of knowledge and capability
* Ensure personal and team compliance with legal, regulatory, ethical and social requirements to build and maintain an excellent reputation for the Company
* Provide team management in line with company HR practices to address personal issues and individual performance
* Provide a two-way communication channel for the team to maximise motivation and performance
* Maintain accurate and complete records relating to training, performance, competence and personal development plans for all team members

To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must have demonstrable previous experience of managing a team in a Banking, Insurance or Contact Centre environment. We are also looking for the following skills and experience:

* A good degree required or equivalent experience.
* Expert knowledge and continuing professional development relating to the products, processes and regulation in the area of work under supervision (as evidenced by continuing accreditation).
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Numeracy and advanced computer literacy (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook)
* Able to analyse data, problem solve and make decisions confidently
* Customer focused when dealing with a range of people
* Have meticulous attention to detail
* Be highly organised and able to manage own workload and team members to meet stretching targets and strict deadlines
* Able to work effectively as part of a management team
* Excellent time management
* Effective meetings skills
* Proven ability to plan and control
* Fully accredited in the work area under supervision.
