Team Lead - Network Security (S17)

My client has an immediate need for a Team leader/Manager of a small Security team to join for an initial short term contract requirement.

The team are responsible for: Security and ICT Risk Management - 27001 compliance, Governance, Policy, Procedures and Standards, Security Architecture, Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity Management, Centralised Administration of Authentications and Authorisation Controls, Content Filtering, Encryption technologies, Security Audit logging and Monitoring, Security Projects, Solution Design, Testing and Compliance, Records Management (Trim) Support Services.

This role will be responsible for managing 4 staff including 2 Security Engineers and 2 TRIM Administrators. This role will be hands on technical as well as requiring the leadership and management of engineering staff.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE INCLUDE:

- Maintaining accurate and appropriate access where new systems change user needs and ensuring that users have access to all areas as required
- Managing application and systems security for business systems and other applications and analysing and resolving a range of security technical problems
- Monitoring access and security performance to identify security problems and breaches in a proactive manner to ensure protection of corporate systems and databases.
- Ensuring the network is protected against security threats from viruses, offensive or malicious email or web content and breaches of network security

TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE YOU SHOULD HAVE:

- 2 - 3 years experience in the management of small - medium teams of technology professionals
- Strong knowledge of network, systems and application security principles for  design and support including Firewalls, content filtering, SIEM
- 5+ years current, hands-on experience in Active Directory
- Strong knowledge of network/systems security principles and technologies including Firewalls (this client uses Juniper devices), Mimesweeper and ISO27001
- Exposure to Bluecoat devices, Novell and Linux would be a valuable plus for this role
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills are a must for this role as are the ability to interview and start immediately

This role will be for a 2-3 month period as a backfill requirement. You will need to be able to start immediately and have a security focus with a strong mix of hands on technical experience and people management experience within the IT systems space.
