JOB MISSION

As a non-technical Team Leader in our System Installation department, you will coach and motivate around 25 graduate engineers for the first five years of their professional careers. Your mission will be to help these engineers progress from grade one to grade four. So how will you achieve this mission? Not by giving them technical advice and training - we have another (technical) Team Leader to do that. This job is entirely people-focused. You will discuss each individual's progress and plan the next steps. You will help identify obstacles and build pathways around them. You will optimize each person's progress by choosing which projects they are assigned to, and which colleagues they will work with. You will do this informally on a daily basis and more formally during their annual performance review. In short, you will be their life-coach and mentor. If you enjoy helping people to grow, if you have a talent for identifying people's strengths (and weaknesses), and the creativity to motivate them, then this is a major career-defining opportunity for you.

JOB DESCRIPTION

You will start by building an environment of trust where people are not afraid of failure. Your duties will include:

- Talking to, interacting with, and creating career plans for individual engineers
- Career planning and training scheduling
- Close cooperation with Technical Team Leaders in manpower placement
- Ensuring we have adequate manpower and recruiting new staff where necessary
- Identifying training needs and organizing training solutions
- Target setting, Mid-year and Annual performance reviews
- Travelling abroad for up to two weeks, three times a year

Above all you will be expected to solve problems - and the more creative your solutions, the greater your contribution to our client.

EDUCATION

Higher Technical College. Relevant working experience in a similar job. Affinity with high tech industry.

EXPERIENCE

- Knowledge of people management and development required.
- Knowledge of safety procedures required.
- Knowledge on higher vocational level within specific areas of technology, combined with some years experience.
- Experience with customers and field operation/a good understanding of what a field operation requires.
- Good knowledge of the English language.
- Has relevant knowledge in managing projects .
- Knowledge of cultural differences.
- Leading a highly educated team of engineers
