My Client School in Manchester are looking to increase their support staff after the February half term break, ideally they are looking for a talented graduate who has previous teaching assistant experience. The role will mainly be working with KS4 pupils who are gearing up for their GCSE exams; you will need to have a strong academic record and the ability to engage pupils who are struggling to reach the C grade.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will report directly to the Head of English who has been a pivotal member of the department for more than 10 years. You will have a variety of responsibilities in this role which will directly influence your teaching ability and be a perfect experience if you are due to start a PGCE/Teacher training in September.

Any experience working with the current curriculum would be an advantage for this role, however the HOD is looking for a graduate who can build rapport with targeted pupils and get them back on track. If you have any experience leading small group work, or 1:1/1:2 English intervention sessions then we would love to hear from you.

The School is located east of Central Manchester in an area that is easily reachable via public transport. The majority of pupils on roll in School are of a white British heritage and the number of pupils eligible for free school meals is around the national average. Last graded as good by Ofsted, this School has a hard working and friendly environment, where pupils feel safe and confident they progress in a wide range of subjects.

With a view to starting immediately after the half term break, do not hesitate to send your CV through to Edustaff straight away. Applicants will need to have a degree in English or similar, providing you have a strong teaching assistant background.

If you would like to apply for this exciting post, please email your CV through to Edustaff NOW.
