My Client Primary School close to the Trafford centre and M60 motorway urgently requires a Graduate Teaching Assistant in a Year 5 class. This position has become available due to the absence of the current member of staff who will not be back before the end of academic year.

The role will involve offering full time classroom support to an experienced key stage 2 teacher who was last graded as outstanding in her observation. You will be working in a Year 5 class, with 30 pupils of varying levels of ability. The class teacher is very supportive and is looking for a talented individual who can show high levels of enthusiasm and play a part in the development of pupils Literacy and Numeracy attainment before the move to Year 6 in September.

The location of the School is ideal for candidates, easily accessible via own or public transport. You can reach the School via bus or metro-link from central Manchester, there is also on site parking available.

With around 260 pupils on roll, this is a slightly larger than average Primary School with a fantastic atmosphere throughout. Staff and pupils share good relationships and this creates strong platform for a positive learning environment. The majority of pupils on roll in School are from a white British heritage, with an average number of pupils who have English as a second language and special educational needs.

As a teaching assistant, you will need to be confident of leading small groups through activities and flexible in your approach as no day is the same. Previous experience working in a classroom as a TA or LSA is desirable for this role, as the School are looking for somebody who can make a genuine difference in this challenging yet highly rewarding role. The majority of pupils are in line with their individual expectations; you will have extra focus on Literacy intervention with a small number of pupils.

This is a full time role until the end of academic year; ideally you will be available to remain in the post throughout. If this role is of interest to you and your experience in a similar post matches up to the requirements, do not hesitate to get in touch.
