Teacher Enchancement Program- Contract Position

SUMMARY:

The Teacher Enhancement Program offers a unique opportunity for active Northeast Ohio teachers to expand their personal and professional knowledge of natural science and to develop curriculum materials that will complement and enhance science, math, language arts, and social studies education in the classroom across North East Ohio.  This is a competitive program open to all Full time classroom teachers.  The selected teacher will be asked to develop an integrated thematic kit that must include a guided reading level literacy component in conjunction with a science and/or social studies topic of the teacher's choice that includes props and materials aligned to Ohio Academic Content Standards.  A budget is provided for the development and production of the teaching kit.  Thematic teaching kits include lesson plans and a variety of experiential learning apparatuses such as specimens, audio-visual media, posters, and field guides all boxed up in a travelling trunk. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A qualified educator is a Full time Northeast Ohio classroom teacher with a background teaching science and language arts at grade school levels, or a 7-12 teacher with experience in science/social studies disciplines.
