Projektbeschreibung

For our client in the aviation industry we are currently looking for a automated test consultant

Start date: 1-1-14

Duration: 6 months (extension for 2 years)

Location: Maastricht (Netherlands)

Language: English

Our client currently has an automated regression test (ART) environment. This environment is rather old, but it works perfectly. ART consists of a test engine, and then of about 300 worksheets in Excel files in 32 cluster directories, each providing one or more test steps. Running the tests, more than 2 million test cases are executed. Every two months they get new features on the system they need to test. These new features result in the fact that the development team has to modify the test scripts. Half of the development effort is nowadays spent on test case maintenance and test execution.

Of course this not at all desirable. That's why they are currently doing a study on how to improve this environment. After the study is done, you will implement this study. Your automated test experience includes working with Real Time Human Machine Interfaces (HMI's). Because it concerns an environment where software failing is not an option, you will need to have knowledge of SIL-2/SWAL-3 software development processes.

Objectives:

The purpose is to temporarily augment the development capabilities of the ENG/ATS/HMI team in order to implement the ART study results and to upgrade the environment and test script suite accordingly.

Tasks/Scope:

The currently envisaged tasks/scope of work to be done can be broken down as follows:

1. Integrate ART into configuration management procedures by migrating the current Excel test assets into textual format.

2. Describe or migrate some underspecified test language constructs, variable scoping and quoting rules.

3. Harmonise the test cluster design

4. Introduce systematic use of terminology from the specification documents, in particular regarding the HCI interface requirements mappings,

5. Implement the ability to execute tests partially by

a. adding respective test engine features and

b. by abandoning non-explicit state carry-over from one test step into the next.

6. Implement features for test case debugging,

7. Implement IDE integration features (eg, syntax colouring),

8. Enhance the engine capabilities to reflect the specific ASN.1 message composition of FDPS, in particular regarding incremental updates to objects.

9. Provide an ability to distribute and balance tests granular over multiple (virtual) machines,

10. Introduce feedback of completion of action from AUT to engine to avoid engine wait states,

11. Integrate code coverage features,

12. Integrate ART report generation into EQM TE3/TE2 CWP test report templates and/or Remedy.Michael Bailey International is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.
