Tax Specialist - UK Corporate Taxes/IFRS/GAAP/ACCA/ACA/CIMA

A leading telecommunications company in Surrey has a current long term contract vacancy for a Tax Specialist to join the Tax Team.

The main responsibilities of this position is to provide high quality tax accounting, reporting and compliance in accordance with both internal and external requirements. You will be supporting the mitigation of tax risks and provide advice on tax matters to the business. Predominantly you will be focusing on UK Corporate taxes (Corporation Tax, VAT and Employer Taxes) and will also have some exposure to Irish corporate taxes.

Main responsibilities:

- Preparing and submission of Corporate Tax returns
- Review of VAT, EC Sales List and Intrastate returns prepared by offshore Financial Shared Service Tax Reporting Centre
- Provision of Tax advice and identification of potential tax risks.
- Prepare FIRE tax reporting
- Ensure Corporate Tax and VAT payments are made on a timely basis
- Preparation and submission of appropriate R&D tax Credit claims
- Provide support for Tax audit.
- Quarterly signoff of applicable SOX and SAO key controls relating to Corporation Tax and VAT

Required skills:

- Extensive knowledge of domestic and international UK Corporate Tax legislation
- Good knowledge of UK and EU VAT and Employer Taxes legislation and its application in a multinational environment.
- Good knowledge of tax accounting, reporting and disclosure principles under IFRS or UK GAAP
- Basic knowledge of UK Employer Taxes legislation and its application in a multinational environment
- Experience with SAP or equivalent
- Qualified Tax Accountant (ATT or CIOT) or equivalent
- Qualified Accountant 9AAt, ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or equivalent
