TAX MANAGER - BANKING

My client, a Tier 1 Bank, is looking for a Tax Reporting Manager with strong IFRS experience to join on an initial 6 month contract.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- To proactively participate in group tax reporting to ensure:
- the banks Group is compliant with the International Accounting Standard for Tax (IAS12);
- appropriate and accurate tax disclosures are internally and externally made; and
- regional Tax/Finance functions are supported to enable sites to account for and report tax accurately both internally and externally and in accordance with the Group's tax reporting policies and processes.
- To ensure that operational tax risk across the Group is effectively managed in accordance with the Group's tax risk strategy and within the Group's appetite for tax risk.
- To ensure that tax risk and reporting MI is provided to relevant stakeholders in a timely and efficient manner.
- To identify and implement opportunities for improvements in tax risk and reporting processes both centrally and throughout the banks Group.
- To plan and execute changes to the Group's tax risk and reporting processes to meet the commercial objectives and strategies of senior management.
- To support the representation of the bank on new areas of IFRS accounting standards with external bodies and ensure that any possible adverse effects for the bank are identified and addressed, together with ensuring that any changes to accounting standards, polices and processes impacting tax are effectively managed and communicated across the Group.
