Tax Manager
Location: London
Contract Duration: 2 Months
Contract Rate: Up to £450 per day

My Client requires and experienced Tax Manager to manage the provision of high quality recurring and ad hoc tax, advice, training, reporting, forecasting, compliance and risk management having regard to the delivery of tax efficiencies and external relationships on a tactical level. The job holder must own appropriate external and internal relationships and processes within tax.

Responsibilities:
*Provide high quality business focused tax and commercial advice to all parts of the Group in the specialist area of tax covered by the section of Group Tax of which they are a member (or as required by the business).
*Actively seek, propose and implement appropriate opportunities to reduce the Group's tax risk or cost.
*Promote understanding of tax risks and opportunities across the Group and use business knowledge to connect colleagues with other relevant internal advisors.
*Negotiate with and lobby HMRC, HMT, ORR and other internal and external parties as required by the section of Group Tax of which they are a member (or as required by the business).
*Manage the preparation and delivery of accurate and timely accounts disclosures and returns to HMRC as appropriate to the section of Group Tax of which they are a member, and maintain clear records of compliance and transactional activity as appropriate.
*Identify risks and design and implement appropriate controls within Group Tax and the wider business.
*Maintain an up-to-date awareness of tax matters, case law, accounting and legislation appropriate to the section of Group Tax of which they are a member (or other relevant issues as required by the business).
*Support the Head of Group Tax and other colleagues as may be required in the conduct of other activities within Group Tax and the wider business.

Essential skills:
*Full professional qualifications in Taxation and/or Accounting or equivalent
*Post qualification experience including exposure to all aspects of accounting principles and methods
*Comprehensive knowledge of Employee Tax legislation, National Insurance Legislation and Capital Gains Tax Legislation including Inland Revenue concessions, dispensations and statements of practice

Desirable skills:
*Knowledge of Corporation Tax legislation
