Bank of America is looking to hire a tax professional to their EMEA Tax Team currently based at 5 Canada Square, this is a great opportunity to work with a well established team of over 25 tax professionals that are based in the UK.

The objective of the EMEA Tax Team is to ensure that Bank of America meets all of its EMEA compliance obligations, to provide tax advice and support to the EMEA Business Units and to identify, develop and implement global tax initiatives which are consistent with the requirements of various EMEA businesses and the rapidly changing legislative and regulatory landscapes.

The successful candidate will join the EMEA Tax Compliance and Reporting team of eight, which oversees the statutory corporate tax filings and tax accounting of all the Bank of America entities in EMEA.

Responsibilities
Reporting to a Tax Manager in the Compliance and reporting team, the new recruit's responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:
Handling and managing the local tax compliance responsibilities for a number of companies in the UK
Day to day handling of the US and local GAAP tax reporting responsibilities for a number of companies in the UK
Providing assistance in US tax record keeping both to meet compliance responsibilities and to assist in tax planning
Providing assistance in US tax forecasting process both to meet compliance responsibilities and to assist in tax planning
To ensure, in conjunction with the Transfer Pricing team, that appropriate transfer pricing arrangements are implemented, documented and supporting evidence maintained for GM, GB and GWM activities.
To work closely with the Tax Planning and Advisory team with regard to changes in legislation and applicable UK tax principles; and with regard to International taxes
Provide tax support for ad-hoc projects.

Requirements

Essential

Sound knowledge of UK tax principles that impact the preparation of a UK tax return
Knowledge of accounting for corporate income taxes in US GAAP and UK GAAP
Good Excel skills; experience in dealing with large quantities of data
Proactive, conscientious and high level of attention to detail
Good interpersonal skills to build working relationships with all colleagues but specifically with the Tax team and Finance teams.

Desirable

ACA/CTA or equivalent qualification
Experience in an accountancy firm or in an in-house tax department. International and financial services tax experience would be beneficial but is not a pre-requisite.
Minimum of 1 year PQE
