Overview:

A Senior Tax Accountant / Tax Accounting Manager is required to join a leading UK Banking group on a 12 month maternity cover contract. This role is based in London and is paying between £25 - £45 per hour.

Scope of Role:

The successful senior Tax Accountant / Tax Accounting Manager will have strong recent banking experience and a solid understanding of IFRS legislation & accounting standards. You will report the group's tax numbers in the statutory report and accounts and in management reporting (including forecasts), and ensure the tax impact of transactions are correctly reflected in the bank's consolidated results.

Key accountabilities:

* Comply with monthly, quarterly and annual group tax reporting
obligations in management and statutory accounts for sub consolidation/;business units and LBG group consolidation

* Understand significant transactions and ensure the tax impact is
correctly reflected in the Bank's consolidated results

* Ensure correct information obtained from underlying systems and
ensure appropriate accounting under IFRS

* Assist with the forecasting of effective tax rate and tax capacity,
collating information from business units and Tax Advisory, understanding variances from expected tax rate

* Operate controls to manage risk

* Process improvement and risk management skills to enable
development of effective and efficient processes in a SOX/SAO environment

* 3+years CTA or ACA (qualified accountant or tax accountant) with relevant tax experience

* Knowledge of UK tax legislation and accounting
standards under IFRS

* Good accounting systems knowledge

* Strong analytical and interpretative skills

* Excellent PC and organisational skills
