Tax Accountant

OUR CLIENT, A FULL SERVICE ACCOUNTING AND TAX PREPARATION COMPANY IS SEEKING A TAX ACCOUNTANT TO JOIN THEIR OFFICE NEAR NEW CASTLE, PA! WE ARE SEEKING AN INDIVIDUAL WITH AT LEAST 3 YEARS OF TAX PREPARATION EXPERIENCE.

JOB PURPOSE:
Determines tax liability by interpreting tax regulations; computing taxes; completing tax returns.

DUTIES:
. Guides clients tax decisions by examining and discussing tax consequences of various financial options; recommending optimal course of action.

. Determines impact of clients tax decisions by computing taxes.

. Recommends strategies to minimize tax liability by studying tax regulations; searching out and evaluating tax options.

. Prepares federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and corporations by collecting, analysing, and formatting financial information.

. Complies with federal, state, and local tax requirements by studying existing regulations; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising client on needed actions; filing required financial and related information.

. Maintains knowledge of Ohio and Pennsylvania tax requirements by studying new tax regulations and directives; obtaining tax opinions and interpretations.

. Prepares special tax reports by collecting and analysing financial and related information.

. Reconciles tax discrepancies by collecting and analysing financial information.

. Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping tax information confidential.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Advanced understanding of QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Publisher and Microsoft Word.

Prior experience in accounting and income tax preparation for individuals and corporations.

Accounting degree preferred

Ohio and Pennsylvania tax knowledge ideal.
