TAPE/VTL HANDLER RICHARDSON, TX CONTRACT POSITION

Tape Handler, Tape Ops, VTL Administrator: This position is for a level-1 Tape/VTL handler. Primary responsibilities include handling back up media, confirming back ups have completed, and dealing with vendors with off site media storage. Candidate will keep scratch tapes always full or available for backup jobs in the library.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Basic Unix skills
- Virtual tape library knowledge
- Strong attention to detail
- Skills in Excel spreadsheet
- Experience in Vertices application and hand scanner for scanning tapes
- Good communication and ability to work with vendors for any services needed relating to tape drive library
- Must be available for on-call to provide any tape restore request or library issue
- Must have a car to travel back and forth from buildings to buildings for tape managements
- Ability to keep track of how to process backup tapes to send off-site according different categories
