Systems Technician

Systems Technician is required for an initial 6 month contract in Valencia, Spain. Working remotely for a global ICT organisation you will be responsible for the maintenance and administration of the Servers, operating systems and directory services. Your experience should ideally include LAN, WAN, Windows, VMware and Linux operating systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* To be responsible for maintaining standard configurations, monitoring and analysis tools, as well as assisting with the solution of the problems related to data centres as a part of the incident management process.
* Working as part of the release management process being responsible for final testing and deployment of server hardware, operating systems, directory service and messaging solutions as well as all related technical documentation.

Experience and Qualifications:

* Systems Technician or Systems Engineer background
* 3 years of experience in operating and maintaining enterprise Data Centres
* Good technical knowledge of Windows, VMware and Linux Operating Systems (MS Windows 2003/2008, Vsphere, SLES and RHEL)
* Technical knowledge of Virtualization technology, MS Active Directory Services and MS Exchange solution
* Good technical knowledge of HP hardware (BL/DL) and SAN EMC/HP technology
* General understanding of Local and Wide Area Network concepts
* Experience with DRBC solutions like VMware SRM
* Ability to work under pressure and with minimum supervision
* Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team of diverse skills
* Good communication and presentation skills
* Excellent knowledge of English (both written and verbal) is required
* Knowledge of Spanish is desirable
