Duties & Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Depth Maintenance Chief, provide expertise and continuity to support JEWCS EW equipment.

Undertake duties as tasked by Depth maintenance Chief in the execution of Depth Tasks.

Undertake Scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities to provide Serviceable assets to meet JEWCS tasks.

Undertake modifications and updates in support of the required maintenance activities to support the generation of serviceable assets.

Works with the EW Software Technician to implement control software and settings and solutions for JEWCS assets.

When required, assist the EW Software Technician to define and develop improvements to control software and settings for JEWCS assets.

Assist with the design of modifications and their installations.

Carries out technical training for JEWCS EW technicians and familiarisation training for operators.

Raise and staff JEWCS Purchase Requested to support and expedite Depth engineering activities.

Work with contractors and potential contractors to where required to support the maintenance of JEWCS assets.

Have a close working relationship with the Forward Maintenance Supervisor providing with technical advice and carrying out research with contractors and other information sources where such information is not available internally.

Comply with all JEWCS Configuration, Change and Quality Management procedure and systems when undertaking Depth activities.

Assist in the development and production of engineering and technical processes, procedures and publications to support JEWCS assets.

Assist with Project Management activities in support of tasks for equipment upgrade and overhaul projects as directed by Depth Maintenance Chief.

Carries out additional duties as directed by the JEWCS Engineering Officer.

Additional Duties

The incumbent will be required to perform such other related duties as may be directed by the Director NATO JEWCS.

The incumbent may be required to undertake operational deployments and/or TDY assignments both within and without NATO`s boundaries.

Normally workshop/hangar environment but may deploy occasionally to NATO bases, JEWCS deployment locations and NATO naval ships.

Must be able to liaise effectively, both internally and externally, with military and civilian personnel. Extensive liaison with research and development agencies and civilian contractors in the EW field.

Successful management of the Technical Support Branch is fundamental to NATO JEWCS meeting performance standards during exercises and evaluations

Skills & Attributes

YOU MUST ALREADY HOLD SC LEVEL SECURITY CLEARANCE

Recent experience of maintaining electronic systems and practical use of software control.

Experience in the microwave and communications field.

Education/Training

ONC/OND or equivalent in Electronics.

Working at Heights.

Working in Confined Spaces.

Slinger/Banksman.

Forklift.

Desirable

Knowledge of current IT hardware and software developments.

Knowledge of software engineering principles.

EW system and application.

Software maintenance.

Maintenance and military flight line operations of avionic systems.

Education/Training

Degree in Systems and/or Electronic Engineering
