Systems Support Analyst

The Systems Support Analyst uses professional concepts and company policies and procedures to solve a variety of problems. This candidate will install, configure, and maintain the server environment. S/He exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate section.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Provides technical user and operational support for the server environment.
- Performs routine and emergency systems administration tasks.
- Analyzes, recognizes and troubleshoots problems with server hardware and applications software.
- Follows established procedures to detect, diagnose, and report all application related problems with Servers.
- Installs new software releases, systems upgrades, evaluates and installs patches and resolves software related problems.
- Performs maintenance on user accounts. Adds, removes and modifies user accounts as necessary.
- Assists in ongoing assessment and upgrading of large Servers.
- Ensures that backup, recovery, and security procedures are set up and performed as planned.
- Evaluates new server technologies and tools to remain current with industry trends and practices.
- Develops interpersonal and team skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

- At least two years' experience as a Server Administrator in an Application Server environment, ie UNIX/Linux or similar environment
- Technical degree or 3-5 years of related work experience required
- Strong documentation skills
- Ability to form customer relationships required
- Must be able to effectively communicate orally and in writing technical information to technical and non-technical audiences at all levels in the organization
- Associates working on client accounts must possess A+ certification
