Systems/Project Engineer

SYSTEMS/PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT/AVIONICS/SENIOR

Our client, a global defence and Aerospace company is looking for a Systems/Project Engineer to work on a 6 month project in Wimborne.

As a Systems Engineer you wiil be part of a multi-disciplinary team to carry out systems engineering activities associated with new product development. This will include specifying, developing and qualifying systems and equipment in line with developing business and customer need.

KEY DELIVERABLES

- Management of product development at work package level to cost, schedule and quality in line with company life cycle management.
- Optimisation of the product design to achieve stakeholder specification requirements.
- Sub-system and equipment architecture definition; design and analysis.
- Interface definition and management.
- Requirements capture, allocation, derivation, validation, verification and qualification.
- Preparation of technical specifications and other project documentation.
- Preparation and presentation of technical design reviews.
- Systems and equipment integration.
- Problem solving during all phases of the project.
- Technical management of external suppliers.
- Liaison with customers, internal and external.
- Compliance with company process and also with legal & regulatory requirements.
- Support process excellence and continuous improvement in programme execution activities.

REQUIRED SKILLS

- 5 years+ experience in an aerospace environment within systems & new product development in an avionics role.
- Databus specifications (MIL-STD-1553, ARINC429, CAN).
- Development of electronic Hardware (DO-254).
- Safety and certification of airborne software (DO-178).
- Understanding and experience of systems engineering processes including:
- Development and certification of complex systems (ARP4754)
- Systems engineering life cycle processes (ISO15288).
- Experience of requirements management using tools such as DOORS or Cradle
- Relevant degree or equivalent.
