SYSTEMS PROGRAMMER needed for a contract opportunity with Yoh's client located in Charlotte, NC.

THE BIG PICTURE - TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

- SQL Server 2008, 2012 experience

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- The System Programmer will serve as a member of the Windows Server Design and Support Team.
- Working with architects and others to understand Microsoft O/S roadmaps and impacts to IT and the business.
- Working with vendors and SQL programmers to develop clustering standards and configurations for the x86 platform for Windows operating systems.
- Configuring, and maintaining Windows Servers in support of business requirements including cluster support and SQL clusters in both virtual and physical environments.
- Performing problem resolution and root cause analysis along with recommending and implementing preventive techniques.
- Developing and promoting standard operating procedures.
- Develop and Manage Server O/S Images working with hardware specialists for specific hardware and ensure hardware O/S compatibility through testing.
- Manage Hotfixes and patches for Microsoft O/S outside of normal Microsoft security patches. This would include service pack updates.
- Participation in 24x7 on-call rotation.
- Participation in Disaster Recovery exercises and events.
- Monitoring and tuning systems to achieve optimum performance levels.
- Ensuring server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software solutions.
- Conducting routine software audits of Servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
- Participation on project teams to deliver optimal server architectural solutions and provide support to data hub team.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- This position requires all candidates to have three to five (3 - 5) years of experience working with SQL, Microsoft Server 2012, and 2008.
- Clustering is the main function of the job so they absolutely must have experience with SQL clustering (make sure it is listed on the resume).
- Must have Hot Fix experience and troubleshooting. This manager is looking for stability on a resume and clear communication skills.

- Desired Certifications: Server +, A+, Network +, Microsoft MCP, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator certification, Microsoft Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer.
- Desired Job Knowledge: Microsoft Active Directory, Windows Server 2003, 2008, and 2012; In-depth knowledge of Microsoft clustering for all current O/S releases and general knowledge of SQL for current releases; Citrix; Virtual Server/VMware; Terminal Services; SysPrep, RIS, Windows Deployment Services; BladeLogic Provisioning and Deployment; Remedy; HP server product knowledge including enclosure, and blade product lines a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work with vendor personnel to include but not limited to the following areas - sales, support and technical levels.
